Craniosacral Therapy (CST)
CST focuses on the gentle placement of hands to help release tension in the body’s connective tissue.
The horse's body is interconnected, both structurally and functionally. If one area of the body is tense, it can affect the horse's whole body, causing stress to your horse's muscles, joints, and fascia. The goal of CST is to relieve tension and allow free movement of cerebrospinal fluid. This helps the horse's body function better through:
-
Self-regulation.
-
Self-correction.
-
Self-healing.

As a CST practitioner, the following techniques are used, including:

Palpation: Gently feeling for restrictions in the craniosacral system
Light touch: Applying pressure to specific points on the body
Energy transfer: exchanging of energy between the horse and practitioner
Cranial adjustments: Making subtle movements to the bones of the skull and spine
Release work: Releasing tension in the tissues surrounding the brain and spinal cord
If you have a horse who is
-
having a hard time connecting with people or other horses
-
is fearful or anxious
-
is recovering from a traumatic accident, injury, or event
Craniosacral Therapy is an amazing way to get the body grounded and connected again.

If you have a horse that:
-
Seems Tense
-
Has repetitive back soreness
-
is head shy
-
is sensitive around the ears and poll
-
plays with his bit excessively
-
is yawning frequently
-
is cinchy or girthy
These are all signs that your horse could benefit from Craniosacral Therapy.

Neuro myofascial release is a therapy that combines neurological stimulation with manual techniques to release tension in the body's muscles and connective tissue (fascia). It is used to relieve pain, improve range of motion, and restore healthy movement by addressing both the neurological response and the physical restrictions in the fascia, allowing the body to "reset" itself to proper alignment.
A typical Session includes the following:

Palpation: Gently feeling for restrictions in the fascia and muscles
Checking Range of Motion: to see which joints are experiencing limitations
Light Massage: work out stress and trigger points
Stretching: help loosen up muscles
ANMR tool: adjustment tool that releases the fascia and allows muscles to relax, leading to self alignment

If your horse is displaying the following behaviors (s)he could benefit from neuro myofascial release technique:
-
Moving away from mounting or saddling
-
Back pain
-
Difficulty bending
-
Difficulty picking up the correct lead
-
Cross firing
-
Head tossing
-
Bucking/rearing
-
Difficulty pushing off the hind end

When fascia is free moving, so are the muscles. When muscles are free moving, so is your horse, allowing him/her to restore balance, rebuild strength, and achieve success!

Shiatsu and the Elements
Shiatsu massage originates from Oriental Medicine and shares a philosophy with acupuncture. It is a hands on massage technique that focuses on the energy meridians of the horse.
What is a meridian? A meridian is a channel in the body that energy flows along. Each Meridian has an equal yet opposite pair. Yin and Yang.

There are 5 Elements in the Body:
Shiatsu massage has been shown to support body system functions. By following and massaging meridians in the direction they flow, the bodyworker can help balance your horse's elements, leading to a happier, healthier horse, and more stable horse. Say bye to that behavior problem your horse has been struggling with and book a Shiatsu session. Each session includes a complementary dose of crystal essence. Crystal essence will be chosen by your bodyworker based off your horse's imbalance(s).

Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology taping is a method used to prolong and amplify the effects of massage, PEMF, or laser done on your horse. It's designed to stretch and move with the horse’s body, creating space between the skin and underlying tissues. This helps
reduce pressure on pain receptors and increases blood flow to the affected area, which accelerates healing. It can be a valuable tool for enhancing performance, managing pain, and improving circulation.
Kinesiology tape is applied to the skin over muscles, ligaments, or joints. The tape’s elasticity is designed to mimic the skin’s own stretch and movement.
We use Kinesiology Taping as an add on service to any bodywork session or massage.
